Key Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Responsible for the end-to-end accounting and preparation of the management accounts of the Orega companies, which includes responsibility and accountability for:

    • Accounting for the Orega entities

    • Balance sheet reconciliations

    • Fixed asset register 

    • Internal expenses (and the process/ systems used)

    • The purchase requisition and approval process and system

    • Corporate tax/ VAT/ P11Ds/ PSA. To include the cash flow management of the taxes.

    • Liaising with HR and external payroll and pension providers
       

  • Prepare the annual budgets (including liaising with the relevant internal departments)

  • Maintain and update the rolling forecasts.

  • Act as a business partner to internal departments in respect of their budgets e.g. HR, Marketing etc (this includes providing insightful information and analysis as well as challenge where relevant)  

  • Work closely with the FP&A team to support with the preparation of the monthly reporting pack/ financial dashboard

  • Prepare the year end audit work for the ‘Orega’ companies.

  • File Dormant Company Accounts.

  • Act as the main point of contact to the auditors ensuring the timely completion of the statutory accounts and audit

  • Support the wider Orega finance team with ‘technical’ accounting support and advice 

  • Act as a mentor to other team members supporting them with their ACCA/ CIMA studies.

General Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

  • Read and comply with instructions and directions as communicated via signs, notice boards and memos.

  • Conduct yourself, at all times, in a professional and responsible manner, promoting a good and proper image of Orega.

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified ACA/ ACCA.  Will have both practice and industry experience. (Not essential to have real estate experience)

  • Strong technical accounting skills (IFRS/ UK GAAP) 

  • Comfortable with preparing statutory accounts (and consolidations)

  • Post qualification experience gained in at least one previous role in industry  

  • An understanding of AML Regulations.

  • Ability to work in an agile way in order to prioritise competing issues 

  • Strength of character to work with (and where relevant, challenge) multiple stakeholders of different seniority across the business

  • Confident and articulate to present financial results and messages to key stakeholders e.g. FD, CFO 

  • Commercially aware and astute.

  • Be happy to work in Head office with the team four days per week.
