Contract: Permanent, full-time
Department: Finance
Reports to: Finance Director / Financial Controller

Orega is one of the UK's leading flexible workspace operators. Established in 2001, we run 25 centres across the UK in partnership with landlords and corporate occupiers, offering serviced offices, virtual offices and meeting rooms. Following a management buyout backed by Apiary Capital, we are planning to grow to 50 sites by 2031.

We are looking for a part-qualified Management Accountant to join our Finance team. The role is responsible for preparing accurate and timely monthly management accounts for a portfolio of centres, and acts as the first point of contact for landlords on financial matters, including presenting quarterly results to them.

The role suits an accountant who is working towards full qualification and wants broad exposure across management reporting, reconciliations, forecasting and stakeholder management in a multi-site business.

Key responsibilities

Management accounts and reporting

  • Own the monthly management accounts and supporting schedules for multiple centres, on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Reconcile revenue each month between the workspace management system and the accounting ledgers.
  • Analyse expenditure across centres to ensure costs are recorded accurately and appropriately.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts and perform monthly cash reconciliations.
  • Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
  • Review and approve payment runs.

Analysis and forecasting

  • Carry out variance analysis of actual performance against budget, working with the operations teams to resolve queries.
  • Prepare forecasts to the end of the financial year, business partnering across the company to agree the inputs.

Landlord and stakeholder management

  • Act as the first point of contact for landlord financial queries.
  • Present quarterly financials to landlords and ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Respond to internal and external queries promptly and accurately, escalating to the Financial Controller where appropriate.
  • Identify and propose improvements to finance processes, controls and procedures.

Requirements

  • Part-qualified ACCA (ACA or CIMA also considered), with a commitment to completing your qualification.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confident use of the wider Microsoft Office suite.
  • A proactive, professional approach, with the confidence to represent Orega in front of landlords.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

  • Experience in a multi-site business.
  • Experience using Sage Intacct.
  • An industry background, rather than practice.

Our values

  • Ambitious – you take ownership of your work and look for ways to improve how we do things.
  • Genuine – you communicate clearly and honestly, and build trusted relationships with colleagues and landlords.
  • Agile – you manage month-end, landlord reporting and ad hoc analysis as priorities change.
  • Dependable – your numbers are accurate and your deadlines are met.
