Meet The #StartMeUp Pitch Finalists

Orega's #StartMeUp Pitch is now at the final stage of the competition. After having a lot of interest from many amazing entrepreneurs and start-ups we have managed to shortlist them down to our final five. Read more about the finalists who are going to pitch themselves and their business to potentially win 6 months of free office space at Orega MediaCity:

 

Started by Carole Stevenson in 2015 as a trial scheme, Foodinate officially launched in March 2016. The business is an innovative and multi award winning start-up social enterprise, tackling food poverty in the UK. Foodinate are creating a sustainable impact to homeless people and people affected by food poverty. Since starting, they have won 9 business awards and have landed full-page articles in The Guardian, The Independent, Eat Out and Homemade (with Sainsbury's & The Huffington Post UK). Foodinate have already generated 6,000 meals for homeless people across Manchester and now plan to expand to make a big difference nationwide.

A new online platform for selling unwanted goods, Floggl was established in 2015 by friends Cameron Worsley & Tom Grimshaw. They wanted to take the hassle, complication and dissatisfaction out of selling unwanted possessions online by making a simple platform where sellers will receive the best price. Floggl plan to expand their business in the next few years by growing a vast pool of dedicated users, processing thousands of orders daily all whilst learning from their customers and offering excellent customer service.

 

Lauren Halket started this bespoke recruitment agency in 2015. The business brings together the best talent with the most innovative companies from around the world in the IT, Broadcast Media and Gaming sectors. Key Talent Personnel operates a network of experienced recruiters who stay connected with the thought leaders, doers and linchpins of these bespoke sectors. With Lauren being a specialist in these sectors the business' plans are to become the main player in the North-West, London and Europe within the next couple of years.

 

Since its launch in 2010 by Ross Sykes, the business has gone from strength to strength. Mike Russ Entertainments UK is now established as one of the leading corporate entertainment agencies in the North West of England and throughout the UK.  The business has worked with many prestigious clients including BBC, Channel 4, ITV This Morning, Sky plus many more. Ross' knowledge, experience, creativity and friendly approach when dealing with clients makes them one of the most professional entertainment organisations in the UK.

This property tech business' mission is to bring the management of property onto a social platform on a global scale. Bharat Lad established DadShed in 2013 with a vision to network people, property and the products within. The business is currently building a platform called RoomAgree - which allows tenants and property managers to sign rental agreements online. DadShed want to disrupt the property management sector as there's not one company that is a global leader at the moment and their platform is international from day one.
